Community Involvement

At LJ Hooker Wollongong, Corrimal and Shellharbour, we believe real estate is about more than property - it’s about people and community. That’s why we’re proud to support local clubs, events and initiatives that make the Illawarra such a special place to live.
From our major sponsorship of the Corrimal Rangers Soccer Club to backing The Great Illawarra Walk, we are committed to giving back, celebrating community spirit, and supporting local service providers and businesses.

Corrimal Rangers Football Club

As the major sponsor of Corrimal Rangers Football Club, we are proud to support one of Australia’s oldest and most respected football clubs, established in 1891. With such a rich history, the Rangers are more than just a team, they are a symbol of tradition, community and sporting spirit in the Illawarra.

At LJ Hooker Wollongong, Corrimal and Shellharbour, we believe in backing the organisations that bring people together. Corrimal Rangers provides players of all ages the chance to grow, learn and succeed, both on and off the field - and we are honoured to stand alongside them as they continue building this legacy for future generations.

The Great Illawarra Walk

The Great Illawarra Walk began in 2008, born from a casual conversation between Chris Lovatt and Darrel and Cleo Pitt. When asked if he had ever considered walking for charity, Chris shared his idea of trekking from Shellharbour to Sydney. With that, the very first walk was organised in June 2008, where 150 participants completed the 100km journey from Addison Street, Shellharbour to Botany Bay.

Recognising the many worthwhile causes in need of support, The Great Illawarra Walk became a registered charity in 2014. Our Principal, Martin Merritt, has proudly supported the event for over 15 years, assisting with organisation, donating water, providing event t-shirts and helping with water stations along the route.
